Ready for Golf

Get your golf game in tip top shape and avoid injuries that will keep you off the course! As in any sport, an athlete whose body is prepared for the activity is less likely to suffer an injury. Golfers need flexibility and strength in various joints and muscle groups to withstand the riggers of a round of golf.

Rehab SECRETS for this condition are:

  1. Don't slouch! Bend forward from the waist so the back remains straight to allow more rotation in your swing.
  2. Properly warm up your body with stretches and a few practice swings prior to tee off.
  3. Don't wait until you get tight to stretch. Stretch while you are playing.
  4. Listen to your body. To avoid overuse injuries, decrease your play time at the first sign of aches and pains.
  5. Perform strength and endurance exercises to avoid fatigue throughout game and increase risk of injury.
  6. If you have questions or would like a golf assessment, contact Community Rehab Physical Therapy.
